My Mom pulled out a story I wrote at an indeterminate age (I'm hoping young): "My grandpa and I went fishing. We stopped in the middle of a fight between a whale and a squid. The whale was biting the squid's arm. The whale was getting so mad he shot off his water and almost hit over the boat. My Grandpa threw his knife and aimed at his spout. He got the spout." Apparently, my Grandpa was a bad ass.
Wow. I dont know how I feel about that. Wow lol

I'm hoping you were young! Very cute story though. You must have thought very highly of your grandfather.

Love the early creative writing sample...When my son was in the first grade, he had to write in a journal every day at school. One night I read that day's entry: "On Mondays, we eat yams." I said, "Sam, we don't eat yams on Mondays," (or most any other day, truth be told). He said, "Hey! Ease up. I could spell every word in that sentence."

and the moral of the story is..."Don't mess with grandpa".
